Day Two: BLOOD AND SKULLS FOR LORD KHORNE
Monday saw two very important fleet fights, both over Infrastructure Hubs or IHUBS. Panfam forces had their staging POS reinforced in Hophib but managed to successfully reinforce Initiative’s Ansiblex Jump Bridge inD4KU-5 which is a direct connection in their capital staging of IGE-NE. They also manage to reinforce the entire constellation of Taurus' IHUBs. In Period Basis, TCAG-3’s IHUB was successfully defended by Imperium. This probably marks the first use of capitals in a skirmish and use them to successfully lock down the IHUB grid until the entosis is complete.
Panfam staging POS reinforced in Hophib At approximately 1830UTC, a staging Panfam player-owned-starbase [POS] was reinforced by The Initiative. The attack came in with two waves with 83 Rattlesnake-class Battleships reinforcing the tower with sentry drones. After the tower was reinforced, they warped to where a cluster of Nightmares were sitting to reinforce the individual modules. Afterwards they warped and jumped back to D4KU-5 uneventfully. The tower is set to come out of it’s timer on July 8th 2330UTC. Afterwards, The Initiative reshipped into Munin-class Heavy Assault Cruisers and headed back into Hophib where they shot several Force Recon cynos off the NPC station undock. This form of harassment is an expensive loss for the Panfam line members and not only prevents fresh logistics ships to jump in on demand but deters capital movement for dreadnaughts and carriers who might need to resupply fitted ships.
D4KU-5 IHUB/Ansiblex Jump Gate reinforced Around 1930UTC while a kitchen sink gang from Fraternity cleared the Mobile Warp Disruptors from the Hophib gate, two fleets from Pandemic Horde - a large Augoror/Augoror Navy Issue fleet and a Harpy-class Assault Frigate fleet with Muunins from NC. The three fleets start reinforcing enemy structures in Hophib, NC. reinforcing the fortizar and the augoror fleet taking the raitaru. The Initiative on their staging Keepstar in IGE-NE reship from Abbaddons to Jackdaw-class Tactical Destroyers and frigate support and head in. After the fleets have reinforced the structures into their first timers, they jump in D4KU-5, the Augoror/Augoror Navy Issue fleet successfully reinforced the Ansiblex Jump Gate and the IHUB killing 1.9b over 80 ships and losing 2.3b over 79 ships. Panfam have tried on several occasions to reinforce the jump bridge and this is their first successful attempt. Suitonia streamed the structure, jump bridge and ihub reinforcement on his twitch channel.
Taurus Constellation Reinforced Shortly after hitting The Initiative Fortizar NC. will hookup with Pandemic Legion and head to L-A5XP to reinforce the IHUB there under Pandemic Legion alliance executor Hedliner. They will do it successfully, destroying 3.6b over 56 ships while losing 3.5b over 106 ships, mostly the PH Harpy gang that probably got engaged by the The Initiative Jackdaws. The entire Taurus constellation was reinforced. The entire battle report for the day’s events can be found here.
TCAG-3 IHUB savedTCAG-3 is the regional gate into Paragon Soul from Period Basis. The IHUB was under reinforcement and came out around the same times at the IHUB fight in D4KU-5. Majikmippie gives an AAR from his perspective in the fight:
As someone who was there from the test side and was doing the initial toasting here is what i saw on this front: - we got in system, spread a load of toasters around the ihub and started, there was no tidi initially, then some goon ceptors came in to try and ecm burst us, but they seemed to not be able to actually land on our claymores and i never lost lock. During this ceptor mess around the Tidi went through the roof (this was before fleets were cynoed in), so this considerably slowed the entosis down as it does everything. we were blapping the inties somehow and generally having a good time. Tidi allowed Goons to form the 800 or so people response fleet and start bridging them in. As a result of this the initial muninn toasters stopped toasting and some smaller frigates took over so we could re-position to fight. At the point that the burst ceptors started causing Tidi it was essentially impossible for us to win the toasting fight. As others have mentioned we are also not able to bring caps due to regional gate or without alot of effort, so to push through TCAG will be an entirely subcap effort on our side.
Goonswarm eventually gets a capital fleet onto the grid which finishes the fight for them and successfully entosises the node back into their control. The attacking Legacy and Panfam lost 29.6b over 303 ships lost. The defending Goonswarm won the objective but lost 60.3b over 381 ships lost. RonUSMC, a strategic FC from TEST, streamed part of the fight on his twitch channel.
